This couple has quite the love story and has been on quite the journey! I won’t get into it here, but just know that when I heard it I welled up instantly with tears and forced myself to quickly get it together so that we could have an amazing session. And if I am to be quite honest, it is extremely obvious how beautiful they both are. It was like photographic “Eye Candy” for me creatively speaking, so it did not take me long to find my groove.
You never know what a person’s story is therefore I find it so important not to judge before you know the details. This couple is the perfect example of that. Cassie and I felt as though we have already known them for years and look forward to seeing this NOW family of 5 learn and grow together through the years.
There was much laughter during the session and we all shared a sense of humor, especially when the mailman walked into the studio at just the WRONG time. They took it like champs and we all just giggled. The best part was seeing our “sometimes” grumpy mailman leave with a bright red face and a huge smile. He has been much nicer everyday since. It was their ability to make light of things, that made this session turn out so successful. I find that is especially important when photographing relationships and nudes.
There has been so much loss endured and now I only see love, joy, and a wonderful future ahead of them. They were brought together, not all that long ago for a reason and getting to work with them during their maternity session and just a few weeks later for their newborn session was a blessing. Sometimes we go out on a limb, have it break off behind us and discover we can FLY.
We wish you both a very prosperous life together with your new little one and the already two miracle children that you are already raising.
Best,
Nichol

I am kind of sharing these images a bit after the fact since I already posted Baby Jack’s Newborn Pictures a little over a month ago. I had to though because I adore them and this family. She was a beautiful pregnant mommy and as you can see from these images their love for each other and excitement for this baby is quite obvious.
Just look at how Jeremy looks at Kate. That is how every man should look at the women sacrificing of herself, her sleep, her figure, her every waking thought and her memory (or was it just me who seemed to forget everything?) for 9 months and beyond to bless them with the amazing gift of a child.
Kate is also a graphic designer who is starting to do a few things for NKP Studio on the side as she continues her great graphic design work for tons of other business in this area and beyond.
I also love that her mom came to be a part of the session. I do not think I have ever had someone do that in their maternity session before and it was really cool to see them really make this a family event. As someone who lost her mom way before I should have, I only wish I had thought to do this. Again, it shows the importance of documenting our families, our children, our parents and our grandparents.
A little insight to Kate’s mom and what I found out after Kate’s maternity session regarding why it was so very important to them to have her be a part of the session. Over the past several months she has been fighting for her life and trying to overcome Breast Cancer. She has had a double mastectomy and is now fighting her way through chemotherapy. Her cancer was found from an annual mammogram on both sides. K & J’s Maternity photos were taken before her mom’s chemo started and the newborn photos were taken 1 week after her first round of chemo. Her Journey will not be an easy one but after meeting and working with her, I know she will not let it keep her down. She is doing awesome and is a perfect example of how you can fight, endure and SURVIVE this.
It was truly a pleasure working with every single one of them.
XOXO,
~N
