One of my Favorite curly-haired Little Ones was in the studio recently. I know his Mamma has been dying to see a sneak peek. I absolutely loved the Etsy outfit she brought for his One Year Cake Smash Pictures and the incredibly yummy cupcake she ordered from Petit Four Pastry in Essexville Michigan. I am yet to see more beautiful cupcakes anywhere locally and the frosting….. WOW! Incredible!!!
Mom was all stressed about whether the outfit would get here in time and it arrived the night before his session. Thank Goodness because it was perfect and different which is what we LOVE at NKP Studio. Hudson was in the studio just a few months ago and Mom booked another session at the time of placing her order. We love it when a client is so happy with their images that they book another session before they ever even get their Final Prints. Thank you so much Robin. You are an awesome new client and we look forward to working with you for many years to come.
He is Magic this little guy and I am a sucker for great dimples.
Enjoy!

I had such a great time hanging with these awesome Little Men and their Great Parents who I schmoozed into getting in some of the photos with ABSOLUTELY no warning. He was only in town for a few days so it was great to get them into the studio and outside for some updated head shots for his Playbills. Thanks to Mike B. at the State Theatre we were lucky to get into the State for some awesome stage photography. Thank you so much Mike for getting us all in there right after Good Friday Service. You are the BEST!
These boys Rocked! It did not even feel like work… Just a lot of Fun!!! They had two different personalities that were like magic together when they were in my studio and on Stage. Kylend is one of the Billy Elliot’s on Broadway. I have had the pleasure of watching him grow up at Miss Lore’s School of Performing Arts and Bay City Michigan is very proud of all of his accomplishments. He has a future brighter than I can imagine and I know he is living “His Dream.”
I have a feeling that his little brother will be joining him on that stage sooner than later. You are such a great Family. Thank you for choosing NKP! We love you!

This Little Princess put such a smile on my face the day she came into the studio. Her mom and dad were both so laid back and great to work with. She was so petite with such personality and had SO many different faces. I loved trying to figure out what she was thinking.

This face was the BEST!

I had a great time working with you all!

Oh my goodness! I am SO far behind on blogging sneak peeks from recent sessions. The good news is that we have been blessed to be so busy at the studio between Senior Sessions and Families getting Christmas pics which is a beautiful thing. I will try to catch up and post more over the next few days.
We are fast approaching our cut off for the end of the year. Our last date for sessions for the year will be December 1st unless you have a newborn. We will definitely do our best to get your newborn in if you call right away after birth and we are able to get them in during the first two weeks of life.
Please keep in mind that we do close the studio for the month January in order to spend time with family, travel to some conferences, and to regroup/plan for the New Year. We will be scheduling our New Special for Senior Update Sessions soon. These are going to be SOOOO fun! We can’t wait to fill you in. Stay tuned for our special Package Pricing on those. We will also be scheduling for February sessions starting in the next few weeks so be sure to call soon if you would like on the wait list for February.
Lots of new products have come to the studio including acrylics, metal murals, storybook albums, and metal prints. Give us a call at the studio if you would like to stop in and see samples. The new Acrylics and Metal Prints are absolutely incredible!
Have an amazing day!

A place we go where the color of your skin is not an issue. You just help those in need.
I have much to share. There were many unexpected challenges on this journey as there always is on any mission trip especially one to Haiti. I am still gathering my thoughts and my words. I am experiencing great sadness with things that occurred there including the deaths of an incredible woman that worked at Hope House during her delivery as well as the loss of one of the babies. There is now a 4 year old little girl and a preemie without a mother. The surviving family also does not want the child or the newborn as they are unable to take care of them. I am not really ready to put it all out there yet as it brings me great sadness. There were so many people affected by this loss and now we face the uncertainty of things to come for the surviving baby. I ask for your thoughts and prayers for Baby Kimberly(Keam-Bear-Lay) and for her big sister Sophuni (So-fu-Ni)
Second, there were so many people helped by our medical mission team during our time there. That is the part that brings me great JOY! There was Unity among ourselves as a team and the people of Haiti. We went into tent cities where the people have yet to get medical treatment since the earthquake. We saw the appreciation from the Haitian nurses of the tent cities who helped pull together the organization of our arrival. As we left they had tears of thanks streaming down their faces. I have many powerful images to share but the above image pretty much sums it up perfectly. UNITY! UNITY! UNITY!
Much rest needed. I am exhausted both mentally and physically but also have had my SOUL fed on an level that is beyond explaination or comprehension. To understand that, one would need to go on a mission to Haiti personally. It is really the only way to truly understand. Thanks to all of you who prayed for me, my family and for the rest of the team while we were helping others. 13oo men, women and children were helped by the medical team this week. I am so grateful to have been a part of it. It will be in my heart forever. I already miss the mission team as well as the people of Haiti. A HUGE piece of my heart will always belong to them. They still need our help. I think a lot of people have already forgotten that. The devastation of the quake is still there. It is takes your breath away at times. Please don’t forget that.
Blessings!

Well, as with any toddler this little guy gave Cassie and I a run for our money on a miserably HOT and HUMID Michigan day. But Oh was he the cutest little thing EVER. His personality alone was enough to light up your whole week. I LOVED how he would sing to us, pucker his lips in his serious moments, run, smile, and play in the water.
This day was all about new discoveries for him and old ones revisited. He loved running around in the corn field, playing with my garden hose, sitting by the pond and watching me try to catch him in a desperate attempt to get at least ONE shot in focus at the end of our time together.
Finally, it happened. I love what was captured. I love how this session shows what it is to be a little boy. His parents are good friends and I have had to pleasure of watching their family grow first by photographing their wedding and then by capturing Daniel as a newborn. Now… Just look at him at nearly 18 months old. PURE Perfection if you ask me, but I am BIASED! Thanks for spending the day with us Sweet Daniel.
xoxo,
~N

I loved how when I opened up this image I saw the heart shaped break in the trees. It definitely made me smile!

A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost.

I LOVE THESE IN BLACK AND WHITE BUT HERE ARE A FEW IN COLOR FOR MOM…

Oh how I loved the clothing choices this mom brought for her little ones. She definitely did her share to help out the retail world of ETSY with all of these lovely clothes, hats, flowers and tutus. Loved seeing the bond these beauties had with one another. They were so close and loved sitting together sharing giggles, kisses and tickles.

I have been MIA lately and seriously neglecting the blog lately. My apologies in advance as it will probably get worse. The studio is ramping up for our crazy Senior season. In the midst of our high school seniors I get the frequent opportunity to photograph our stunning newborn families.
This mom and dad were so in love with Baby Gavin and each other as you can see in the images. I had a great time photographing them and was able to feed my maternal itch by spending several hours with Sweet Gavin. Life is getting easier by the day as my three little ones grow and become more self-sufficient all the time. However, once in a while I want another little one to snuggle. Then I snap back into reality and remember how those days are done and I get to move into the next stage of the growing years which is quite exciting.
Sylvia and Ryan, thank you for spending your day with us at the studio and hopefully you are pleased with what was captured as a result. You were both so great to work with. We will see you soon.
