When I loaded this image I had sooooo many different quotes come to mind that would represent it. For now, as we try to wrap up 2010 for all of our amazing clients and get things delivered ahead of schedule I find this quite fitting. Soon, we will be able to soak in this amazing time of year and get to spend some much needed quality time with our families. Cassie, I couldn’t do it without you! Thanks for all of your hard work!
Don’t forget to take the time to ENJOY your families this Holiday Season and be grateful for life’s blessings!

It’s always double the work, but twice as much love. We had such a great time photographing this 6 day old brother and sister duo yesterday. It is always a workout to photograph twins, but double the reward when I load the images and see the outcome. Have I mentioned lately that I {HEART} my job?
Here they are still inside their beautiful Mamma’s tummy…

And here are the amazing beauties that were inside. I still think it is always so amazing to see the gift of life. I cannot even imagine having two at once.

The Big Brother

The Little Sister

They are just SO SO PERFECT!

Recently, I have realized how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE photographing Engagement Sessions. Ever since I stopped doing weddings a few years ago I do not do as many engagment sessions as I would like to. The reason is because usually that is something that comes with the wedding package so couples just tend to go with the photographer they booked their wedding with. Thankfully, I have had a few different couples lately and I have had THE BEST TIME documenting such great realtionshiops. It is always great to work with people in LOVE… REALLY IN LOVE!
This couple is the perfect example of that and they even work together day in and day out at their own Law Practice. How many of you out there could actually work with your spouse? Haha! They were a “Breath of Fresh Air” to have in my studio and I think the images speak for themselves as to the amazing relationship they are blessed to have. It was great working with both of you. These almost make me want to come out of retirement and photograph your wedding. I hope you are as excited about the images as I am. Have a perfect day!
Best,
~Nichol

It is a rarity that a senior client comes in who is spunkier than I, but I do digress. I have been beat. Madison took the cake. She is one assertive little thing as well which I always have respect for. I had a blast photographing her from start to finish. I look forward to seeing what and WHO she becomes in the future. Madison, it was my pleasure!

BEST,
Nichol

Oh my goodness! I am SO far behind on blogging sneak peeks from recent sessions. The good news is that we have been blessed to be so busy at the studio between Senior Sessions and Families getting Christmas pics which is a beautiful thing. I will try to catch up and post more over the next few days.
We are fast approaching our cut off for the end of the year. Our last date for sessions for the year will be December 1st unless you have a newborn. We will definitely do our best to get your newborn in if you call right away after birth and we are able to get them in during the first two weeks of life.
Please keep in mind that we do close the studio for the month January in order to spend time with family, travel to some conferences, and to regroup/plan for the New Year. We will be scheduling our New Special for Senior Update Sessions soon. These are going to be SOOOO fun! We can’t wait to fill you in. Stay tuned for our special Package Pricing on those. We will also be scheduling for February sessions starting in the next few weeks so be sure to call soon if you would like on the wait list for February.
Lots of new products have come to the studio including acrylics, metal murals, storybook albums, and metal prints. Give us a call at the studio if you would like to stop in and see samples. The new Acrylics and Metal Prints are absolutely incredible!
Have an amazing day!

Oh how I LOVED working with this couple. Just look at them. They are a stunning pair. So easy to photograph and so go with the flow. The love they share is apparent and I loved capturing it on film. That is one lucky baby in Mamma’s tummy and it was just one of those days that I really love my job. Jamie, I cannot wait to show you the rest.

A place we go where the color of your skin is not an issue. You just help those in need.
I have much to share. There were many unexpected challenges on this journey as there always is on any mission trip especially one to Haiti. I am still gathering my thoughts and my words. I am experiencing great sadness with things that occurred there including the deaths of an incredible woman that worked at Hope House during her delivery as well as the loss of one of the babies. There is now a 4 year old little girl and a preemie without a mother. The surviving family also does not want the child or the newborn as they are unable to take care of them. I am not really ready to put it all out there yet as it brings me great sadness. There were so many people affected by this loss and now we face the uncertainty of things to come for the surviving baby. I ask for your thoughts and prayers for Baby Kimberly(Keam-Bear-Lay) and for her big sister Sophuni (So-fu-Ni)
Second, there were so many people helped by our medical mission team during our time there. That is the part that brings me great JOY! There was Unity among ourselves as a team and the people of Haiti. We went into tent cities where the people have yet to get medical treatment since the earthquake. We saw the appreciation from the Haitian nurses of the tent cities who helped pull together the organization of our arrival. As we left they had tears of thanks streaming down their faces. I have many powerful images to share but the above image pretty much sums it up perfectly. UNITY! UNITY! UNITY!
Much rest needed. I am exhausted both mentally and physically but also have had my SOUL fed on an level that is beyond explaination or comprehension. To understand that, one would need to go on a mission to Haiti personally. It is really the only way to truly understand. Thanks to all of you who prayed for me, my family and for the rest of the team while we were helping others. 13oo men, women and children were helped by the medical team this week. I am so grateful to have been a part of it. It will be in my heart forever. I already miss the mission team as well as the people of Haiti. A HUGE piece of my heart will always belong to them. They still need our help. I think a lot of people have already forgotten that. The devastation of the quake is still there. It is takes your breath away at times. Please don’t forget that.
Blessings!

Just a few for now….. I have been in over my head this week with work, projects, husband out of town and being a typical mother of three. But I had to make time this morning to blog just a few of this incredible child who I have been waiting to see for what seems like a REALLLLLLY LOOOOOOONG time. I can only imagine then how long it seems like it was for her Mamma and Daddy.
What a good little baby too. She virtually slept through the entire session which was amazing! We messed, molded and tucked her little limbs for several hours and she took it with grace and cooperation. A dream I say!
And…..let’s not forget sweet little Cecilia is a new big sister and a great one at that. She probably goes down on the record books at NKP as the best and most gentle two year to ever hold a one week old baby in my studio. Thanks for doing such a great job CC. I completely {HEART} you and promise to post some pictures of you with your baby sister soon.
XOXOXO,
~Niki

Loved the silly faces she was making during this part of the session with her cheeks.
